When Is A Contract Not A Contract

Well in the NFL, a Contract is not a Contract, all the time. The only real importance of a contract is the outline of the guaranteed money and any perks and or bonuses. The team can dump a player virtually anytime they want, and if the rules were in my favor as an owner I'd do the same thing. I'm not saying I'd like it or even that the owners like it, but like in the Godfather... "It's not personal it's business." Which is also why I don't blame players one bit when they ask for more money in the middle of the contract. That's where we are currently in today's NFL. I don't blame, hate or get upset at any side for trying to "get money." I just can't stand it when one complains about the other doing something the other would do in that same position. It's called reality, I live in it while many others don't. Now to the labor agreement and the owners opting out. First let me say... DON'T FREAK OUT (Fans, Players & Owners) this will get worked out. We knew this was coming, it's the reason the owners chose to opt out BEFORE the November deadline and not wait. We have three more years of football without a lookout on the horizon and the only thing that COULD, not will but could, change is an uncapped 2010 year. This is not the end of the world, the owners will get a few things they want as will the players. And I have news for you, both sides will want more, not get it, and more again in the future and we will be here again in 5, 10 , 15 years etc....
