NOT Better With Time

Not much to say after this one except the Ravens have the team to blow others out, but just can’t or won’t. Not sure if it’s is the coaching, the players falling off or a combo of both. Either way if this team wants to get going in the direction they want to go they better get on the same page and quick before these scares turn into losses. And as a side note, what’s up with Kyle or Steve. Do we have a QB controversy brewing? I’m not saying Kyle Billick Boller is bad or has not done OK in the last game and a quarter but if McNair is healthy he needs to be the QB. We’ll keep our eye on this situation.

JUST A WIN

A win is a win and I’ll take it, but at home against a team that “BAD” it NEVER should have been that close. The play calling still left something to be desired. With about 3:30 left in the game, back deep in our own territory Coach Billick decided to THROW THE BALL to Williams. WHY? The pass was incomplete and it STOPPED the CLOCK. The next play they run the ball and the Jets call a timeout. If we had run the ball on 1st down they would have had to use two on the 1st two plays instead of one. Against the Jets they should have never been that close to tying the game, against a better team our missed opportunities at scoring and our unorthodox play calling WILL COST the Ravens a game or two. Coaches TIGHTEN UP!

Passing on a Win

First off let me say that 6 turnovers is way too many for any team, and to still be in a game is a testament to the Defense and the Special. Our very own ED REED is just the best of the best with that 63yrd punt return for a touchdown. Ok, let’s Fast forward to the end of the game, 4th and inches on the goal line down 7 points and you throw???… WHY ARE YOU PASSING ON THAT DOWN…? QB SNEAK, FULL BACK OR RB ALL WORK. The team is lucky enough to recover a fumble, a great pass from Kyle Boller to D MAS, put the team 1st and goal at the 3. 1st down run for 1 yard, 2nd down pass incomplete, 3rd down 1yrd… Now it’s 4th and inches. The Back up QB Kyle Boller throws a good pass to an open Heap who catches what looks like the TD and the Refs blow that call. OK GREAT BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER THROWN THAT PASS ANYWAY. We then get a “make up call” 1st and goal on the 5. Run Willis for 3yrds, 2nd and goal at the 2. They throw on 2nd to the FB, bad pass worse play call. On 3rd down they throw to Heap, again a good pass and ok play but SHOULD NEVER BE CALLED IN THAT SITUATION, you have to try and pound it in the end zone. The ball is tipped and intercepted GAME OVER. You pay all that money to Willis, give him the BALL. BACK UP QB, on the road, 3 things happen when you throw and 2 are bad for the O. I’ve liked Billick but this time I can’t back him, through all the turnovers and sloppy play of O they had a chance to send it to OT on the Road. Stop trying to be smarter and start being stronger. POUND THAT BALL IN. Pound it on 2nd down & maybe even 3rd down. Time was not the problem. Then on 4th if you still have not scored, run a boot leg or roll him out, Boller is fast, give him the choice to run or pass… but you can’t just try and pass the ball to LOSE the Game. We need t re-think our play calling Coaches.
